Betsson in Belgium: the essentials first

Betsson is a Swedish brand known across Europe, but its Belgian casino rests on a local arrangement. The domain betssoncasino.be operates under the A+ licence of Exploitatie Casino Middelkerke, the company behind the land-based casino on the Belgian coast.

According to the help centre, the website, excluding the gaming services, is run by FiveoSeven Platform Solutions Limited in Malta. The homepage calls itself Betsson, formerly betFIRST: the brand has replaced the former betFIRST online casino.

What we reviewed

On 7 October 2026 we reread the casino's official help centre, in French and Dutch, and the register of the Belgian Gaming Commission.

That day, the pages of the site itself (lobby, terms and conditions, responsible gaming) could not be viewed when we checked. Every fact below therefore comes from the help centre, and anything it does not cover is reported as not disclosed. We did not open an account.

Betsson's A+ licence and player protection

An A+ licence backed by the Middelkerke casino

The domain appears on the Gaming Commission's official list of A+ licences (official source, opens in a new tab), in the name of Exploitatie Casino Middelkerke SA/NV, with an expiry date after the date of our review.

The help centre confirms that this company provides the casino games, holding an A licence for the Middelkerke casino and an A+ licence for online play.

The brand's sports betting belongs to another company and a separate F1+ licence on a different domain: this review only covers the casino.

Age, account and identity checks

Accounts are open to people aged 21 or over only, in euros only. Identity checks are done by secure upload in the My account area, never by email. The documents requested are listed below.

• a photo ID;
• proof of address less than six months old;
• where needed, a bank statement or proof of your e-wallet.

The operator says documents are reviewed within 24 hours.

Limits, self-exclusion and EPIS

The legal limit of 200 euros per week applies separately to each site. You can set a lower limit at any time, effective immediately.

Self-exclusion runs from 24 hours to 6 months. During that period you cannot play, but you can still log in to withdraw your balance.

A self-assessment test is offered, and the help centre points to the Gaming Commission's EPIS system for a voluntary access ban (official source, opens in a new tab) that applies to every Belgian operator.

Announced timescales by method

The help centre says withdrawal requests are processed within a period of up to 24 hours. Once the payout has been sent, the arrival time depends on the method, and an email confirms the processing.

These are the operator's timescales; we have not measured them.

Withdrawal methods and the Paysafecard case

The official list of withdrawal methods includes bank transfer, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard and debit card, with a minimum of 20 euros. Bancontact, Apple Pay and NeoSurf are not on it.

On Paysafecard, the help centre contradicts itself: the card appears in the withdrawal list, but two other answers state that after a Paysafecard deposit, withdrawals must be made by bank transfer.

We follow that more specific rule: in practice, you do not withdraw to a Paysafecard.

Rules to know before requesting a withdrawal

• withdrawals go through the method used to deposit, and to a payment method in your name;
• each deposit must be wagered in full at least once before it can be withdrawn, according to the terms and conditions quoted by the help centre;
• if documents are requested and do not arrive within 120 hours, the withdrawal is cancelled and the amount returned to your gaming account;
• you can cancel a pending withdrawal yourself from the withdrawal section, and there is no option to lock it;
• withdrawal fees are not mentioned in the help centre.

The fact that a pending withdrawal can be cancelled but not locked is worth knowing. If you tend to replay money you have just withdrawn, a temporary self-exclusion or a lower deposit limit are the right tools.

The help centre lists twelve deposit methods. The minimum is 10 euros, with the operator's caveat that it may vary by country and method.

Fees and payment methods in your name

Betsson does not charge fees on deposits, although your bank, card issuer or e-wallet may.

Deposits are only accepted from a payment method in your name, and only one Skrill or Neteller account can be registered. Your deposit method also determines your withdrawal method: Bancontact and Apple Pay cannot be used to withdraw.

The legal limit of 200 euros per week

The legal limit of 200 euros per week and per site applies to your account. An increase can be requested from your account settings or through support.

Any increase follows the Belgian procedure, which goes through the Gaming Commission, and a 72 hour waiting period. The amount still available for the week is shown in the responsible gaming section.

The help centre distinguishes slots, live casino, dice games and virtual sports, with game rules for each family.

The lobby spreads these families across separate menus. Slots: new games, popular games, exclusives, jackpots, Megaways, Hold and Win, crash and Plinko. Dice: popular games, dice games and Dice Slots. Live casino: roulette, blackjack, baccarat, poker, live TV games, VIP tables and first person tables.

We read these sections on 8 October 2026. The titles quoted are the ones the site then placed in each category.

Games exclusive to Betsson

The exclusive slots category groups titles specific to the site, several of which carry the brand's name:

The live casino has its counterpart: the Betsson Lounge, presented as an exclusive live salon, brings together Pragmatic Play tables in the brand's colours, such as Betsson Roulette, Betsson Blackjack 1 to 4 and two Betsson VIP Blackjack tables.

Dice slots highlighted at Betsson

In the dice section, the popular games category highlighted Supreme Dice and Dice Of Magic from Amusnet, Hot Cubes from Greentube, and dice versions of well-known slots such as Gates of Olympus Dice or Sweet Bonanza Dice from Pragmatic Play.

A selection titled Top 10 in Belgium held only four titles when we checked: Supreme Dice, Hot Cubes, 100 Power Hot Dice Edition and Gates of Olympus 1000 Dice. Amusnet dominates the Dice Slots category, with 81 Dice, Book of Dice or Burning Dice.

Live tables at Betsson

According to the help centre, live tables are supplied by Netent, Playtech, Authentic Gaming and Pragmatic Live Casino, from studios in Latvia and Malta that are closed to the public. Each table's betting limits are shown under its name in the lobby.

The tables we could identify in the lobby come mainly from Evolution and Pragmatic Play: Lightning Roulette, Live Immersive Roulette, Mega Roulette, Infinite Blackjack, Speed Baccarat 1 or Squeeze Baccarat. We flag this gap with the help centre without settling it.

Poker is played against the house, with Casino Hold'em, Caribbean Stud Poker or Ultimate Texas Holdem. Separate sections group VIP tables, first person tables such as First Person Craps, as well as sic bo and dragon tiger.

Game shows at Betsson

The live TV games section gathers games styled as television shows: Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Mega Ball and Lightning Dice from Evolution, plus Mega Wheel, Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Dice City and The Bingo Spot from Pragmatic Play.

The outcome of each round remains random. We do not repeat the multipliers that the lobby banners put forward.

Crash, Plinko, table games and virtual sports at Betsson

The crash category gathers games such as Spaceman, High Flyer and Big Bass Crash from Pragmatic Play, or Balloon from SmartSoft. The Plinko category offers Plinko+, PlinkoX and Pine Of Plinko 2.

Outside the live casino, automated table games include American Blackjack, Multihand Blackjack and European Roulette Pro. Virtual sports simulate football, racing, tennis or darts, such as Virtual Football League or Rush Horses Go.

Betsson's providers and game count

The lobby also sorts slots by studio, with dedicated selections for Pragmatic Play, Amusnet, Greentube, Play'n GO, Hacksaw and Games Global. Kalamba, Relax Gaming, Octoplay or SmartSoft appear in the categories mentioned above.

The operator does not publish how many games can be played from Belgium. The game list returned by the site's technical interface is the group's list, with no guarantee that it is filtered for the Belgian market, so we do not use it.

Each game's rules open from within the game itself; the operator publishes no average return to player (RTP). The help centre points out that games run on an audited random number generator: no strategy can predict an outcome.

Betsson on mobile: apps and help centre

iOS and Android apps

The help centre confirms that there is an app for iOS and for Android, found by searching for Betsson in your phone's app store.

The store listings are published by Sagevas SA, the group company that runs the brand's sports betting, not by the holder of the casino licence. Worth knowing, even though the app uses the same account.

The site and the help centre on a phone

The help centre itself is built for phones, as our screenshots show: search, frequently asked questions and contact buttons stay within reach at the bottom of the screen.

For the website, the operator recommends the latest version of Chrome, or Safari on a Mac. The mobile lobby could not be viewed when we checked, so we do not assess its usability.

Opening hours that vary by section

The opening hours depend on where you read them. The help centre banner gives chat and email from 9 am to 10 pm, and the phone from 8.45 or 9 am to 8 pm depending on the section.

Another answer announces a team available 24 hours a day for urgent responsible gaming issues.

Complaints

A complaint that support does not resolve can be escalated to complaints@betssoncasino.be, with your full name, date of birth and a clear description of the problem. You can also contact the Gaming Commission.

Betsson's offer: tournaments, jackpots and Drops and Wins

On 8 October 2026, Betsson's Promos page listed three casino tournaments. The lobby menu had Tournaments, Jackpots and Drops and Wins sections, as well as a category of games with a purchasable feature.

Three tournaments by supplier

According to their descriptions, the three tournaments follow the same pattern: one supplier is featured, and registered players collect points by playing that supplier's games to climb a leaderboard. The top-ranked players receive a prize.

Amusnet was the supplier of the week from 5 to 11 October, Greentube the supplier of the month from 5 October to 1 November, and 3Oaks was announced for 12 to 18 October.

Based on the tournament interface, registration goes through a dedicated button and the choice of a display name, which is then used for every leaderboard and cannot be changed.

Participating games, the minimum stake and the points rule are set out in each tournament's details. Some tournaments are restricted to slots, excluding table games, video poker and live casino.

The interface also provides for private, invitation-only tournaments, a format reserved for certain players of which we saw no example.

When we checked, the tournament module stayed empty, so we cannot state the minimum stake or the points rule of the current tournaments. The app store listings announce daily, weekly and monthly tournaments, a frequency we could not observe on the site.

Fixed and progressive jackpots

The Jackpots section sorts games by the suppliers' jackpot families: Gros Jackpots, Jackpot Play, Jackpot Carte, Mega Moolah, Dream Drop, Cash Connection, Diamond Link, 10 Minute Drops, Fazi Mystery Jackpot, Spin to Win, WowPot, King Millions and Lots a Loot. Two filters separate progressive and fixed jackpots.

A fixed jackpot pays the amount set in the game rules; a progressive jackpot grows with a share of every stake placed on all linked machines. In both cases it is triggered at random under the supplier's rules.

Betsson does not publish the share of the stake paid into these pots. The page also shows a feed of recent wins and jackpot amounts that we do not reproduce. The app listings also mention daily progressive jackpots, with no rules published on the site.

Drops and Wins, the Mega Wheels wheel and feature purchases

The Drops and Wins category brings together 60 games, mostly from Pragmatic Play, linked to that supplier's programme of the same name. Betsson does not publish its rules, so we cannot describe it any further.

A homepage banner promotes the cashback wheel in Mega Wheels, but it is not a refund granted by the operator: it is a feature of the dice game itself. The game page says the wheel is triggered after at least 30 credits have been played in the game, and its outcome remains random.

The Buy Bonus Games category is not an operator offer: it groups games whose special feature can be bought directly for a higher stake. Each round costs more, without changing the role of chance.

Account rewards and terms and conditions

The account menu has a Rewards section, with active rewards and rewards to claim. A help centre answer refers to funds tied to an active reward that must be wagered before any withdrawal; this content is only visible once logged in.

The terms and conditions, readable at the time of the 8 October review, state in Article 7.7 that any promotions or rewards are subject to eligibility criteria. They are limited to one account per household, address, device or payment method, where the applicable law allows it.

No advantage is tied to installing the app: the site only shows a banner inviting visitors to download it for the best mobile experience. We found no loyalty club, ranks, convertible coins, shop or missions displayed to Belgian players.

Our verdict on Betsson

Who Betsson suits

Betsson suits an adult Belgian player looking for an A+ casino with live tables, deposits by Bancontact, Apple Pay or PayPal, and a fast payout to an e-wallet once the 24 hour processing is over.

The help centre is thorough, support speaks French and Dutch, and the limit and exclusion tools are clearly explained.

Who Betsson suits less

It is less suited to players who deposit with Paysafecard or Bancontact and want their money back the same way, who find a 20 euro minimum withdrawal too high, or who want a published game count.

Set your budget before playing and stick to it: gambling should remain paid entertainment, never a source of income.
